Receptions in Afternoon Can Be Less Expensive

The catering costs for a wedding can seem outrageous. It is worth it if you have the money and the vendor is professional and experienced. It is not worth it if you are low on cash. Well, you can lower the costs of your reception significantly while not starving your guests by having your reception mid-afternoon. By that time, your wedding guests have already eaten for the day and expectations..I mean hunger pains.. are not high. You can now get away with something like a cake and punch reception with a few meat and cheese trays. Do not go overboard on the food trays though, because finger food can be expensive when you have too many options. You can further prepare your guests by telling them it is a small reception. Have your parents do it or tell them on the ‘reception card’. You can use terms like light reception or small reception. Your guests will get the picture.
