Fingerfood Can Cost More
Yes it can. When most brides think of saving money at a reception, they believe that purchasing fingerfood will cost less, but if you are not careful you can end up with a larger food bill than expected. Why? When you buy fingerfood, you tend to buy more items, but in a smaller volume for each. You’ll lose the price savings advantage of buying in bulk when it is done this way.
To keep fingerfood prices low, you should try to stick to no more than 6 to 8 items. This doesn’t mean that you can’t have some variety, of course. You can add different flavors to chicken wings, after you have bought them in bulk. You might also be able to do something similar with finger sandwiches. You can buy the bread and other condiments in bulk, but change up the meats a little. Go to a big warehouse where bulk purchases tend to save you, like Sams. And please stay away from the premade sandwich and other finger food trays if you can. You would save more money if you have someone you know prepare it for you.
